Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Scope of the Policy

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related digital resources offered through buzzkine. The courses cover broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and streamlined workflows for television networks and live events. It governs transactions made by customers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed, and the circumstances under which refunds may be granted. The policy is designed to comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. It covers both one-time course purchases and any subscription-based access to materials.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Additional Charges

All prices on the website are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate unless otherwise stated. Any additional charges such as transaction fees from third-party processors or currency conversion fees for international cards will be clearly shown before payment is authorised. buzzkine reserves the right to adjust prices for future enrolments, but the price at the time of purchase remains fixed for that transaction. Customers are responsible for any taxes or duties imposed by their local jurisdiction beyond the VAT already included.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation, and Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and approved digital wallets. Payment is authorised at the point of checkout through secure third-party gateways that encrypt all card details. No full card information is stored on our servers. Authorisation confirms that funds are available and reserves the amount until the transaction is completed or cancelled. In cases of suspected fraud, payments may be declined and customers contacted for verification using the details provided during registration.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

Upon successful payment, an order confirmation email is sent immediately containing details of the purchased course, access instructions, and a summary of this policy. The contract between the customer and buzzkine is formed at the moment the confirmation email is dispatched. Access credentials or download links are provided only after this point. Customers should retain the confirmation for their records as proof of purchase.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under UK law, consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which they may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content, this right is lost once the customer begins downloading or streaming the materials or explicitly consents to immediate access. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, but refunds for unused portions depend on the specific terms outlined below. To exercise cancellation rights, customers must notify buzzkine in writing before the period expires.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available within the 14-day period if no substantial access to course content has occurred. Exclusions include cases where the customer has completed more than 20 percent of the course modules, downloaded significant resources, or attended any live sessions. Promotional offers, gift purchases, and customised training packages are generally non-refundable once access is granted. Services already delivered, such as personalised feedback, cannot be refunded.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund, customers should first email [email protected] with their order number, full name, and a clear statement of intent to cancel. Within five working days, a confirmation of receipt will be issued. Customers may also use the contact form on the Contacts page. All required information must be supplied accurately to avoid delays. Requests received outside the eligible period or without sufficient detail will be declined.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

Upon receiving a request, buzzkine will review access logs and usage data to determine eligibility. The customer will be notified of the decision by email within ten working days. If approved, a refund will be processed. If rejected, reasons will be explained along with any options for appeal or partial credit. Customers may be asked to confirm they have deleted any downloaded materials as a condition of approval.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Credit and debit card refunds typically appear within five to ten working days, while bank transfers may take up to fourteen days depending on the financial institution. buzzkine is not responsible for delays caused by the customer's bank or payment provider. A refund confirmation email is sent once the transaction is initiated.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, and Promotional Offers

Because courses consist primarily of digital content, the 14-day right to cancel is lost immediately upon commencement of access. Subscription renewals do not trigger a new cooling-off period. Promotional discounts are applied only to the initial term and do not extend refund windows. Live event components within courses are treated as services and become non-refundable once the event date has passed.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

In the event of a failed payment, customers are notified and given an opportunity to retry with an alternative method. Duplicate charges are investigated promptly and refunded if verified. Chargebacks are treated seriously; repeated or unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account review and possible reporting to relevant authorities while preserving customer data in line with UK GDPR.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom

Nothing in this policy affects statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to goods and services of satisfactory quality. Customers retain the right to pursue claims through the courts or alternative dispute resolution schemes. buzzkine cannot exclude these rights through contractual terms.
