Legal Information
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This page sets out the legal and statutory information that applies to this website, to the training courses advertised on it, and to any contract you enter into with us. It should be read together with our other policies, which are listed further down this page. If anything here is unclear, please contact us using the details in the section on contact routes.
Who We Are and the Role of This Website
buzzkine operates this commercial website as a provider of specialised training courses focused on audiovisual production excellence. Our teaching covers broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and the streamlined workflows used by television networks, streaming services and live event teams.
In legal terms we act as an education and training provider. We sell places on courses, workshops and short programmes to individuals and to organisations, and we deliver instruction through our own trainers and invited practitioners. We are not acting as your agent, and nothing published on this website creates a professional engineering, architectural, legal or financial advisory relationship between us. Where course material touches on technical standards, licensing, or health and safety duties at your own venue, it is general instruction only; it remains your responsibility to obtain site-specific professional advice and to comply with the rules that apply to your premises, equipment and staff.
Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers, Licences and Responsible Representatives
We are a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. The following non-contact identifiers are published in line with the Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008, the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 and the Value Added Tax Act 1994:
- Legal form: private company limited by shares
- Place of registration: England and Wales
- Company Registration Number: 02867466
- VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923
- Register of record: Companies House, Cardiff, where the company's filings and director appointments are available for public inspection
No special operational licence is required in the United Kingdom for the delivery of commercial training of the kind we provide. Where a course leads to an award or certificate issued by an external awarding organisation, that organisation is named in the relevant course description and its own quality and appeals procedures apply in addition to ours. The responsible representatives of the company are its directors. Their identity and appointment details are recorded at Companies House and are open to inspection by anyone. Tax and accounting declarations are made to HM Revenue & Customs, and all prices shown on this website are inclusive of VAT where VAT is chargeable.
Registered Office and Available Contact Details
Our registered office is 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK. All formal correspondence, including notices relating to a booking, a complaint or a data protection request, may be sent to that address or by email to [email protected]. You may also telephone us on 01344 649400 during normal business hours. A contact form is available on our Contacts page, and email sent through that form reaches the same mailbox as the address above.
For clarity, formal legal notices under any contract of sale should be sent in writing, either by post to the registered office or by email, and are treated as received on the next working day after sending (or, for post, on the second working day after posting). We conduct correspondence in English. A site-wide cookie banner is displayed when you first visit, and it manages your consent to non-essential cookies and similar technologies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. Please use the channels listed above for all official communications, so that your enquiry can be logged, tracked and answered by the right member of staff.
Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website
This website exists to describe our training offer, to allow visitors to compare courses, and to allow enrolment and payment. Its scope covers studio and control room practice, vision and camera control, lighting design and rigging principles, sound engineering for broadcast and live sound, signal flow and workflow design, and the operational discipline needed for television networks, streaming platforms and live events.
The intended audience includes media professionals, aspiring broadcasters, production technicians, freelance operators, students of film and television production, corporate communications teams, venue technical staff, and organisations that produce live or recorded content in-house. Content is written in English and is directed primarily at users in the United Kingdom, although we welcome international learners; where a course is delivered online, you are responsible for ensuring you can lawfully access it from your location. The website is not aimed at children. Courses are intended for adults aged eighteen and over unless a specific course description states otherwise, and any booking made by a person under that age must be made or approved by a parent, guardian or employer.
Access to the Website and Acceptable Use
Browsing this website is free of charge. You do not need an account to read the course descriptions, and you may print individual pages for your own reference. Paid elements of the service begin only when you book a course or purchase materials.
When using this website or any learner portal connected to it, you agree not to:
- copy, scrape, harvest or republish substantial parts of the site, including course descriptions and curricula, for any commercial purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server or database, or interfere with the security or availability of the site;
- share login credentials, seat allocations or downloadable materials with anyone who has not paid for them;
- upload or transmit unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, infringing or malicious content, including material that breaches copyright or confidentiality obligations;
- use the contact form to send bulk unsolicited marketing or automated messages;
- record, stream or redistribute live sessions, lectures or demonstrations without our prior written permission.
We may suspend or withdraw access, without refund where a breach is serious, if these rules are broken. We also reserve the right to change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website or a course timetable where there are technical, legal, staffing or safety reasons for doing so.
Ownership and Permitted Use of Website Content, Course Materials and Trademarks
All text, graphics, photographs, diagrams, layouts, course curricula, slide decks, handouts, exercises, video recordings, audio recordings and software elements on this website or supplied during a course are owned by buzzkine or are used under licence from their owners. They are protected by copyright, database right, design right and, where applicable, trademark law.
You may view, download and print a single copy of any free page for your own personal, non-commercial reference. Course materials issued to enrolled participants are licensed, not sold, and are subject to the separate licence terms set out in the enrolment agreement. Unless those terms say otherwise, you may not copy, adapt, translate, publish, sell, sublicense or use our materials to deliver competing training, and you may not remove any copyright, attribution or watermark notice. Any trade names, logos or service marks displayed on this website belong to their respective owners and may not be used without written permission. Requests for permission to reproduce material, including for teaching or press purposes, should be made in writing to the contact details above.
Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, and to describe our courses fairly. Even so, the site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Equipment, software versions and industry practices change quickly, so course content may evolve between publication and delivery. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses, or that any particular technique will produce a particular result in your own production environment.
Nothing in this page excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any term that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires to be honoured. Subject to that, and so far as the law permits:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data or loss of reputation arising from use of this website;
- where you use the website for business purposes, we exclude all implied terms and warranties to the fullest extent permitted;
- where you deal with us as a consumer, our liability for a failure to perform the services with reasonable care and skill is limited to the remedies available under consumer law, as explained in the section on consumer rights below;
- our total liability arising from any single booking is limited, where the law allows, to the total fees paid by you for that booking.
You are responsible for your own decisions and for the safe application of what you learn. Practical work involving rigging, electrical supply, cameras, lighting or sound should always be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, local regulations and your own risk assessments.
External Links and Third-Party Content
This website may include references to other websites, manufacturers, industry bodies, software platforms or funding schemes. Such references are provided for convenience and information only. They are not endorsements, and we do not control the content, availability, security or privacy practices of any third-party site.
When you follow a third-party link you leave our site and become subject to that provider's own terms of use and privacy notice. Embedded players, maps, payment gateways or fonts supplied by third parties may set their own cookies or identifiers; our Cookie Policy explains how we manage our own cookies and how you can control consent. We accept no responsibility for any loss caused by third-party content, and we are not liable if a third-party service changes or is withdrawn.
Your Data, Cookies and Related Policies
This Legal Information page forms part of a wider set of documents that govern your use of this website. All of them are available from this website, and they are cross-referenced here in plain text rather than by link, so that you can find them in the site navigation:
- the Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and which rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018;
- the Cookie Policy, which explains the cookies and similar technologies we use, their purposes and how consent is managed under PECR;
- the Terms and Conditions, which govern bookings, attendance, learner conduct, cancellation by us and the contractual relationship between you and us;
- the Payment and Refund Policy, which explains billing methods, deposits, transfers, cancellation windows and how refunds are calculated and paid.
If these documents conflict with this page on a contractual point, the Terms and Conditions take priority for bookings. On matters of data protection, the Privacy Policy takes priority. Please read all of them before you enrol.
Consumer Rights, Cancellation, Refunds and Dispute Resolution
As a trader selling courses to consumers, we comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Provision of Services Regulations 2009. Before you book, we provide the key information about the course: its content, duration, location or delivery platform, trainer requirements, price and VAT status, payment terms, and your right to cancel. Because most of our bookings are made at a distance (online or by telephone), a fourteen-day cooling-off period normally applies from the day the contract is concluded.
You should be aware of the usual exceptions. The cooling-off right does not apply once a course has been fully performed, and it does not apply where a course is booked for a specific date or period of leisure activity. If digital course materials are supplied, you lose the right to cancel once delivery has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement. Refunds are handled under the Payment and Refund Policy, and we aim to process them within fourteen days of agreement.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, and information we gave you that you relied on when booking forms part of the contract. If a course falls short of that standard, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or a price reduction. If you are unhappy, please raise it first with us by email or post using the contact details above, so that we have the opportunity to resolve it. We will acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to give a substantive reply within twenty-eight days. We are not obliged to use an alternative dispute resolution provider, but we are willing to consider a recognised ADR scheme or mediation where it may help. Data protection complaints may also be made to the Information Commissioner's Office, and consumer advice is available from Citizens Advice and Trading Standards.
Applicable Law and Competent Courts
This website, and any contract formed through it, is governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from your use of the site or from a booking.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. Consumers resident in Scotland may bring proceedings in the Scottish courts, and consumers resident in Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, or from enforcing a judgment in any jurisdiction where assets are located.
Changes to This Page and Last-Updated Statement
We review this page regularly and update it when the law, our business practices, our company details or our services change. Where a change is significant, for example a change to a legal identifier or to the way we handle complaints, we will highlight it on this page. The current version was last updated on 30 October 2026. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised information. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the site; changes will not affect rights that have already accrued under a completed booking.
